This month — ET sees lessons in BP’s Caribbean oil debacle. Simoney Girard interviews Dr Michael Schluter CBE, founder of the Jubilee Centre and the Relationships Foundation. There are insightful articles on: Charles Kingsley as a populariser of Darwin’s evolutionary theory (Russell Grigg); observing God at work (John J. Murray); Philip Doddridge (Ian Densham); Balaam (Roger Ellsworth); and why we suffer (Dudley Reeves). In ET’s world mission reports, Kim Eng Sherwood describes the plight of Karen and Chin refugees. There is much more besides, including reviews, letters and detailed news reports.
Internet Edition — Do you live in Australia? Or in USA perhaps? What about Kenya or South Africa? Or anywhere else in the world outside the British Isles? Then the Internet Edition of Evangelical Times is for you! You can download the full 32 page Evangelical Times newspaper every month for around US$12 for a whole year (12 issues) and without paying a penny for international postage costs! It comes to you on your computer screen rather than as a printed paper — avoiding the cost and uncertainty of the mail. Although the Internet Edition is designed to be read on-screen you can print out any pages or articles you wish. You pay by credit card using the ultra-secure WorldPay system. Click on ‘Internet Edition’ to browse a free sample.
Evangelical Times International (ETI) — is the 16 page airmail edition of Evangelical Times that is sent overseas to anyone who is willing to distribute five or more copies in their locality. The paper itself is free of charge but the distributors (or agents) pay for the airmail postage. Some agents have UK ‘sponsors’ who pay the postage on their behalf. The idea behind ETI is that affordable reformed literature is often unavailable in third-world countries and this paper is one way to fill this gap. However, ETI also circulates in places like USA and Australia where there is nothing quite like Evangelical Times available.
