A small group gathered in Fort William on the evening of Friday 31 March to hear about the work of the Trinitarian Bible Society in providing faithful and accurate translations of the Bible in the languages of Africa today.
It was reported that good progress was being made in projects like Amharic and Shona (amongst others), but there was a desire to see accurate translations in Swahili and other major languages too.
It is sobering to think that many still do not have the Scriptures in their mother tongue. The urgent task of translating and distributing the Scriptures is great, but the Lord is opening ways to relieve this need. May he give the blessing to these endeavours in his name.
