Mission – New Christian bookshop

November 2016

A new, independent Christian bookshop has opened on the North Norfolk Coast. Shiloah Books is owned and managed by Lisa Davies, wife of the pastor of Cromer Baptist Church.

As well as a range of Bibles, commentaries and Christian literature, there is a good selection of greetings cards and gift items, including Bible-based games for children.

The shop also offers high quality second-hand Christian and secular books. Mrs Davies said, ‘My vision is to keep the gospel witness on the high street in Cromer. It is also to maintain a friendly Christian welcome to all who visit, and to promote and encourage Christians to read sound literature that will enable growth in grace and maturity’.

The shop is at 23 Church Street, Cromer, NR27 9ES (opposite the Baptist Church). In September 2012, Evangelical Times wrote an exclusive study on the struggles faced by Christian bookshops in the UK. The story, ‘The shop around the corner’, can be found at http://www.evangelical-times.org/archive/item/5748/News/The-shop-around-the-corner/
