On 30 April, Giles Woodcraft was inducted to the pastorate at Hope Church, Ferndown, which is near to Bournemouth. The Heatherlands Centre in Ferndown was packed for the occasion. Giles will be the pastor for evangelism, working as co-pastor alongside Stuart Fisher, who is pastor for teaching.
During the service there was a real sense of joy and expectancy at this new phase in the church’s life. The church was originally a plant from Moordown Baptist Church and is now an independent FIEC church.
Situated on one of Dorset’s most socially needy estates, it is now, with the benefit of having a resource centre and community action project centre attached, beginning to make inroads into the community and seeing lives changed by the gospel.
Giles comes from New Life Church in Brighton. He and his wife Lauren, along with their three boys, Ezra, Jonah and Barney, will be living in the heart of the Heatherlands estate.
