Media – 10ofThose opening

December 2015 | by Jonathan Carswell

On Saturday 24 October, Christian bookstore 10ofthose.com welcomed more than 400 people for the opening of their new warehouse, conference room and shop in Leyland, Lancashire.

The morning was a celebratory affair, with lots going on for all the family. There was face painting and story times for children, while authors including Stuart Olyott, Karen Soole and Rev. Sam Durant were quizzed about their writing and reading by Roger Carswell.

The shop was open for business, with lots of space to browse and flick through the thousands of titles on offer. More than £1100 was raised for Yorkshire Camps, through the selling of ‘pre-loved’ books. Tea, coffee and cake were available in abundance, with a particularly impressive ‘cake of books’.

The atmosphere was one of fun, celebration and supportiveness, as this gospel-minded company marked the continual growth that has characterised the eight years since they started.

As Adrian Reynolds, director of the Proclamation Trust, commented in his short address, 10ofthose continues to be concerned for God’s glory above all else and is doing an important job in getting gospel literature into the hands of many people.

The morning ended with a free hog roast for all the guests, with continued browsing of books and conversation flowing between old and new friends, who had travelled from all over to be there.

The shop is open 10.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday, and offers free tea and coffee with space to browse and read, as well as free Wi-Fi. The new premises can be found at Unit C, Tomlinson Road, Leyland, PR25 2DY.
