Christmas – Mercy ships carol service

December 2015

Mercy Ships, a charity which provides free healthcare on board the world’s largest civilian hospital ship, the Africa Mercy, is hosting its first Scottish Christmas carol service at St Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh, on Monday 14 December, at 7.30pm. The St Mary’s Cathedral Choir will be singing at the service.

The Africa Mercy is currently docked in Madagascar, where the charity plans to provide approximately 1700 surgeries for patients on board. With a volunteer crew of 450 from about 40 different nations, the charity’s medical professional volunteers will also provide healthcare education and training to Malagasy healthcare professionals and its community leaders.
