Christians across the country have been signing a petition to keep Premier Radio on the DAB radio, after it was revealed that it could be ousted to make room for yet another music station.
MPs such as Labour minister Stephen Timms and concerned celebrities have called on the government to maintain the licence for the Christian radio station, so that it can keep its national coverage on the Digital One network.
The licence, according to a statement from Premier Radio, is set to expire on 31 March, and a petition has been made available on the Premier Radio website to help garner support. It calls on Ofcom to step in and prevent Premier Radio from being taken off the airwaves.
A briefing paper is available on request from Premier, by calling 0207 316 1384. There is also a letter on the website for individuals to send to their MPs.
