Christian Prison Resources has called on churches to pray for volunteers who are still awaiting clearance to be able to serve inside prisons.
According to its latest newsletter, the process can be long and many team members are going through their own battles with health issues and difficult situations.
The newsletter added: ‘Praise God for his provision in rearranging the Bible studies at HMP Pentonville. The original format was not working, with the change in patterns inside the prison. There were difficulties with inconsistent attendance and studies were not progressing, due to the participants being at different stages of the course.
‘Now, the studies have been moved to a different day, the chaplaincy and staff have been supportive in the change, and we are seeing several men attending regularly. So studies can progress and the group can grow together’.
