The congregation at Groomsport Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Northern Ireland, have thanked Rev. Jeff Ballantine, who recently reached a milestone in his ministry when he celebrated 25 years of preaching.
After the evening service on Sunday 26 January, a monetary gift presentation was made by Dobbin Kelly, senior elder, and treasurer Dougie Glover to Mr Ballantine. Sheena, Mr Ballantine’s wife, was presented with an arrangement of flowers by her Sunday school pupils. A fine tea was later provided by the ladies of the congregation.
Mr Ballantine commenced his ministry in the Lisburn Road, Belfast, congregation. He was then called to minister in a church plant in the Bangor area, initially, in a local hall 19 years ago. The denomination then acquired land in Groomsport, where a new building was constructed.
Mr Ballantine has overseen the start of the ministry, reaching out to the local community and working with 40-50 young people on a Friday night.
Also, a work was started among young mothers and carers who bring along their pre-school children.
Rev. Jeff Ballantine has been a faithful servant of God, preaching the Word over the past 25 years, and we as a congregation wish God’s blessing on him and his wife for the days ahead.
