March 2014

Jenny Marra, Scottish Labour MSP, has called on the Scottish government to pay attention to the 45,000 people who responded to a consultation on plans for new human trafficking proposals.

In a statement from charity CARE, the consultation on the proposed Human Trafficking (Scotland) Bill received the third-highest number of responses since devolution.

The proposal was first published in September 2013, and a final version is expected to have been put before Parliament by March. According to CARE, 18 MSPs must give their support in order for the Bill to progress.
