Africa Christian Textbooks (ACTS)

December 2013

From small beginnings, Christian ministry ACTS has spread across the nation of Nigeria and beyond.

In 1993, ACTS was formally inaugurated with the support of its host institution, the Theological College of Northern Nigeria (TCNN), Bukuru. All its operations were part-time and books were received through the support of several sympathetic publishers and the Evangelical Literature Trust (now Langham Literature).

As we appreciate God’s faithfulness and celebrate the work of ACTS and all who have contributed to its success, we also give thanks to God for several key people who have been with ACTS from the beginning. The first employee was Rev. Luka Vandi, seconded by his church to this ministry immediately upon his graduation from TCNN.

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, ACTS has been seeking to raise funds for two projects — the Writers Retreat and Conference Centre, and the Africa Bible Commentary Hausa Translation Project. In its latest prayer letter, the ACTS team asks for prayers for security for Kenya and Nigeria, with mounting violence towards Christians from Islamic extremists.
