Edible housing

November 2013

Housing charity Shelter has launched the Great Gingerbread House Sale, to get Britain’s community and youth groups baking to support its emergency Christmas appeal. According to data from Shelter, 80,000 children in Britain will wake up homeless this Christmas — enough to fill more than 300 primary schools. Money raised from the sale of each edible ‘property’ will go towards helping homeless children this Christmas, and enable Shelter to continue its work (www.shelter.org.uk/gingerbread).
