Bath ordination

There was standing-room only on Saturday 22 October for the ordination and induction of Mr Bill Goodman to the pastorate of Bethel Baptist Chapel in Bath.
Following the home call of the former pastor, Michael Wood, the church had continued to meet on the Lord’s Day with a number of visiting preachers assisting in the leading of worship and the ministry of the Word.
Mr Goodman and his wife Ruth have been in membership at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London for many years. He underwent full-time theological training at the London Reformed Baptist Seminary between 1990 and 1992 and was employed full time in the civil service before receiving the call from Bethel.
Pastor Richard Clarke of Beacon Park Baptist Church was the presiding minister, assisted in the ordination by Pastor Haile Emiru of East Dulwich Tabernacle in London.
Pastor Trevor Carlisle of Whitley Wood Reformed Baptist Church, Reading, read from the Scriptures. Mr Goodman gave an account of the Lord’s calling, both into the ministry of the gospel and more recently to the pastorate at Bethel, while Mr David Williams gave the background to the unanimous call that the church had given.
The charge to the pastor was given by Pastor Emiru, with the charge to the church being given by Pastor Clarke. Please remember the Lord’s work at Bethel Baptist Chapel in Bath in your prayers.
