New name; same message

Christ Church is the new name for Haywards Heath Evangelical Free Church, and in June this year the congregation moved into their new building.
They believe the new name will be easier to use, remember and explain, as a simple description of a group of people following Jesus Christ.
The building work was done to create a more welcoming and flexible space, so that a variety of activities can go on at the same time and so that the building can be used to serve the community more.
The main meeting hall area was extended to become a multi-use space that can be transformed quickly for use by the church congregation or by children’s clubs. The church has also upgraded facilities for the Mayflower Playgroup which runs every day during term time.
Graham Nicholls, one of the elders, said, ‘There have been believers meeting on this site since 1937. We want to continue their mission to live for Jesus and communicate the gospel in a way that is relevant in the 21st century.
‘We hope the building will help us serve the community better and extend a warm welcome to all visitors whatever their age or background’. Further information: www.cchh.org.uk
