Riposte

The flamboyant Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, has spoken openly in defiance of Professor Stephen Hawking’s assertion that there is no God and no afterlife.
In an interview with BBC’s Toby Foster, host of a weekday breakfast show for BBC Radio Sheffield, the archbishop said that Professor Hawking’s picture of heaven as a retirement place for Christians was vastly wide of the mark.
According to reports, Archbishop Sentamu said, ‘It is a place where God’s will is done’ and not some ‘up-in-the-sky stuff’. The news came after he spent two days in South Yorkshire visiting young offenders, during which he said if people ‘talked about God as much as they talked about the weather, the world would be a different place’.
