Joni Eareckson Tada

Following a diagnosis of cancer in June, evangelical Christian Joni Eareckson Tada is reported to have had successful surgery, according to Joni and Friends International Disability Centre (JFIDC) president Doug Mazza.

‘Joni’s surgery was completed successfully … and she is resting comfortably, preparing to begin the rest of her course of treatment in the next few days’, Mazza said. ‘She is appreciative of all the prayers on her and her husband Ken’s behalf and is grateful to God for his sustaining grace and extra measure of strength during this time’.

A quadriplegic for more than 40 years, Tada, founder of the JFIDC, has been a strong advocate for people with disabilities. Her book Joni: an unforgettable story (authored by Joni Eareckson Tada and Joe Musser; published by Zondervan) has been an inspiration to many Christians facing personal health issues and other life challenges.
