Stem cell success
A ten-year-old boy in London is the first child in the world to receive a windpipe transplant that was rebuilt in his own body using his own cells. Over the next month, doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital will monitor his progress, as stem cells differentiate into special cells that will eventually form the inside and outside of his trachea.
