Books for Albania

When John Blanchard first visited Albania three years ago he was shocked that little good evangelistic literature was available there.

After discussion with missionary Will Niven, he launched Project Albania, aimed at funding the translation, editing and printing of seven of his own evangelistic titles, including Does God believe in atheists?

Funds were raised and the project began to take shape in 2008, with the completion of three EP Books titles: Evolution: fact or fiction? , Why believe the Bible? and Where is God when things go wrong? This was soon followed by the Banner of Truth title Right with God.

John recently returned from his third visit to Albania, which as well as ministry in Tirana and Fier included the launch of Does God believe in atheists? and Has Science got rid of God? John said that the production quality of all six books (by a Christian printer in Tirana) is superb.

Interest has been such that plans are under way to extend the project beyond its initial scope. His recently released title Why on earth did Jesus come? is being fast-tracked in order to be ready for the Christmas season. Jesus: dead or alive? is scheduled to be released in time for Easter, with Can we be good without God? also planned for 2010.

Church leaders in Albania are discussing with him the possibility of three further titles. Because the Albania Evangelical Mission is well established in the country (since 1986), all these titles are being published under its umbrella (www.aemission.org). Enquiries to: mailto:mwdniven@hotmail.uk
