OAC has new director

OAC Ministries (formerly known as Open Air Campaigners) have appointed a new national director.

Rev. Peter Kennelly, who is based in North London with his wife Alison, has been serving as OAC’s London director and has been active in evangelistic outreach and training programmes. He will take over from outgoing national director Dave Glover in November during the OAC evangelists’ conference.

Under Rev. Kennelly’s direction, the London team launched a training programme called ‘Streetwise’. Also he headed a joint outreach with the London City Mission, called ‘Tell-A-Tourist’.

Speaking of his new position, Peter said: ‘I would like to help widen the influence of the mission, growing the body of evangelists, and continuing to get us on the streets, into the schools and anywhere else that we can; to present Christ by all means, everywhere’.

This sums up the motto of the OAC, which is more than 100 years old. It began in Australia in 1892 as Open Air Campaigners and was launched in the UK in 1968.

Peter and Alison, who is a teacher, have three children. Peter said he felt called to full-time street evangelism while he was pastor of a Baptist church. More information: http://www.oacgb.org.uk
