Tyne and Wear Metro
Commencing 21 September for four weeks, Message on the Move (MEMO) and Bible Text Publicity Mission (BTPM) are sponsoring a joint Scripture poster campaign on the Tyne and Wear Metro.
MEMO has booked sufficient sites for one poster to be displayed in every carriage of the trains, and BTPM have booked sites for one poster on every available station.
Although the posters will be different shapes they will carry the same Scripture text – ‘Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me’ (John 14:1) – and similar graphics to link the two designs.
All posters will carry contact information, and every enquiry will be followed up in an appropriate way. The train posters also list a web site (www.ygod.info) and text messaging facility, enabling those wanting to know more about the Christian life to respond.
Both organisations have seen an increased response to their other campaigns this year. For any who doubt the merits of this form of evangelism, there is evidence to prove that people are still responding to Christ after seeing posters on public transport and railway stations. One example was a man in Cornwall earlier this year.
MEMO and BTPM are always looking to partner with local churches or church groups and are already beginning to plan for major campaigns during the Olympic Games in 2012.
