Indian persecution

A mob has attacked a group of believers in Orissa, India, who had refused to take part in a Hindu religious festival.

The Christian community decided to stay at home instead of honouring the Hindu gods, but villagers became angry that the Christians did not contribute financially to or get involved in the celebrations. The mob broke into the home of Christians, beating some people and putting three into hospital, including one woman.

Pastor Rajat, who is supported by Christian mission organisation Gospel for Asia, was hidden by the Christians. The villagers have called on the police to banish Pastor Rajat from the village.
