October 2009 will see, God willing, the launch of Emmanuel Church, Canterbury, in the city’s old synagogue (it is now a recital room owned by the King’s School).
With the help and support of Iain Broomfield of the South East Gospel Partnership and Eric Harmer, pastor of Barton Evangelical Church on the other side of town, a committed launch team has been formed. Its vision is ‘to reach the lost and make life-long disciples by establishing a Bible-centred, culturally sensitive church in north-west Canterbury’.
The church will be led by Richard Hagan, who has been serving as assistant minister of Christ Church, Westbourne, in Bournemouth. Canterbury has the world on its doorstep, and to obey Christ’s call to make disciples of all the nations is Richard’s desire.
Emmanuel Church needs people to pray, support and come and join them. More information: mailto:[email protected]
