Sharing God’s mercy

I can’t remember a specific time or day when I became a Christian. However, I heard a sermon as a young teenager on the text Isaiah 45:22: ‘Look unto me and be saved all you ends of the earth, for I am God and there is no other’. As a result, I received assurance that God had worked in my heart and my sins were forgiven through the finished work of Jesus Christ.

I was also aware that I had a responsibility to share God’s mercy to me with others, and I was baptised when I was 16 to testify publicly to my faith in Christ. At that time a member of my family was ill and this had made me think seriously about life and death.

I sought to share my faith in Jesus Christ with my school friends and now with those I work with. Being a Christian has not always meant an easy or straightforward life but it has given me completely different priorities – and has affected what I do, what I think and how I spend my time. We are now seeking to raise our first child in a God-centred way.
