Africans appoint USA bishops

 

The Anglican Church in Uganda has followed the lead of other African churches and consecrated a bishop to serve in the US. Two bishops were recently appointed in Kenya and three in Rwanda. The growing trend is calculated to widen the breach between liberals and evangelicals within the Anglican communion and follows the US decision to appoint an openly gay bishop in 2003.
