International Christian College, Glasgow

International Christian College (ICC) is an evangelical, inter-denominational theological college that came into being in 1998, through the merger of Glasgow Bible College and Northumbria Bible College.

On Saturday 7 July 400 students, staff, family members and friends gathered at the Barony Hall in Glasgow to celebrate ICC’s ninth graduation ceremony.

The Principal, Rev. Dr Tony Sargent, and staff were joined by Professor Trevor Salmon of the University of Aberdeen and Dr David Nash of the University of Strathclyde representing the Board of Directors.

Degree awards, from the Open University or University of Aberdeen, were conferred on graduating students and Rev. Dr David Smith addressed the graduates. These will enter a diverse range of church ministries, including church planting in Ghana, working with street children in Mongolia, pastoral ministry in Tanzania, and working with children with disabilities in South Korea.

ICC also has 30 postgraduate students. This year three received an MTh in Biblical Interpretation. Two of these are planning to take up PhD research at ICC, one studying the Torah in the Old Testament, the other Puritan pastoral ministry.

This year also a group of professionally accredited youth workers completed their studies and are embarking on youth work in churches around Scotland.
