In September 2017, Dundee saw the ordination and induction of Andrew Robertson take place at St Peter’s Free Church. Rev. David Court preached and presided over the service.
Andrew is the son of former Free Church Moderator Rev. David Robertson and a graduate of Edinburgh Theological Seminary. He will be leading a new church plant, with his wife Caireen, in the Charleston area of Dundee.
Until now, Charleston has been devoid of an evangelical Christian church that serves the local community. Andrew says: ‘Caireen and I have long had a desire to do this and we have already moved into the area to get settled and to begin to get to know the people of Charleston. Charleston is considered an area of urban deprivation, with around 60 per cent of its population living as part of the 15 per cent most deprived people in Scotland’.
However Andrew Robertson said the biggest tragedy about the area was that there is not one evangelical church witness in Charleston.
