The annual Reformation Bible Conference occurred on 4 and 5 of January at the historic Hill Top Chapel, home of Sheffield Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
The speakers were Rev. Richard Phillips, Rev. Andy Young and Rev. Kevin Bidwell. Topics covered included the importance of creeds and confessions, the sovereignty of God, Christ in the book of Ezekiel and Christian dating.
It was a joy to see so many people from different UK churches sitting under Reformed, experiential preaching. It was also the first time the conference has benefited from the newly extended Hill Top Chapel – the extra space was much appreciated.
The conference first met in 2015 as graduates from a young people’s camp requested an opportunity for extra fellowship and teaching during the year. This request blossomed into a conference covering different aspects of Christian living.
To our pleasant surprise, the chapel was packed with people of all ages – it was clear there was a genuine hunger for biblical preaching. Five conferences later and the feedback has shown the event to be a helpful way to begin the year.
It offers priorities for the year ahead and attendees benefit from warm Christian fellowship. One regular conference goer said, ‘Attending the Reformation Bible Conference has been such a blessing over the five years.
‘An amazing opportunity to hear God’s Word both simply explained and profoundly expounded. I love the social aspect as well; being able to catch up with old friends and meet new ones’.
