The case involving Christian Australian rugby superstar, Israel Folau, looks set to end up in federal court after all sides failed to reach a settlement.
Folau had his professional rugby contracts terminated after he published social media postings urging people to repent from their sins, including homosexuality.
His employer, Rugby Australia, said the postings were anti-gay. But Folau is claiming he has been unfairly dismissed from his job because of religious discrimination.
Supporters of Folau have been making donations to help cover the costs of his legal action. Folau said, ‘Thanks to those who have supported me. I will continue to stand up for the freedom of Australians’.
