New legislation is being proposed in Australia to protect a person’s freedom of religious expression, after Christian rugby player Israel Folau was fired for posting comments about hell on social media.
As reported in Evangelical Times, the former Wallabies star had his multi-million dollar contract terminated, after posting a message on his Instagram account.
The message said ‘hell awaits’ unrepentant ‘drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists, idolaters’.
The proposed laws would allow Australians to express their faith outside of the workplace, as long as there was no financial damage towards their employer.
