The family of a seriously ill girl has won the right to take her to a hospital in Italy to receive treatment.
Doctors in the UK wanted to end the life support of Tafida Raqeeb, aged five, but her family refused.
The case ended up in court and the judge, Mr Justice MacDonald, sided with the girl’s family.
He praised the nobility and dignity of the way in which Tafida’s family had fought for her to be given a fighting chance of survival.
The five-year-old has a bleed on the brain, but she has the ability to swallow and can respond to pain.
A petition organised by CitizenGo garnered nearly 280,000 signatures in support of the family.
