Australian churches have been working to help those affected by the devastating bushfires sweeping the nation.

According to the Baptist Union Australia, a fund has been set up to aid churches assisting those caught up in the fire, while others have cared for exhausted emergency service workers.

All over, churches have united in special days of prayer, while chaplains have been offering personal care and spiritual support at relief and recovery centres in the impacted areas.

The fires, which are still continuing, started in 2019 due to drier-than-usual conditions. Thousands of homes have been damaged, more than 20 human lives lost, and over 15 million acres destroyed.
