Evangelical groups have offered prayers for the Royal Family following the death of Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh. His death at the age of 99 was announced on 9 April, just a few days before this edition of ET went to print.
CARE issued a prayer saying, ‘God our Father, you truly hold time in your hands, from beginning to end. We pray that you would send the mighty comfort of your love to the Royal Family, and particularly the Queen.’
It added, ‘May his family know your strength in the coming days and weeks, as they grieve their loss in the face of so much public attention. Give them hope, O Lord, and reveal to them the eternal peace that is theirs in your gospel.’
The Evangelical Alliance said, ‘We are praying for the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family as they mourn the death of Prince Philip.
‘We pray that they would find comfort in God as they grieve. We thank God for his life and service to this nation, and above all his dedication and marriage to the Queen.’
