John said, ‘He was in the world and the world knew him not. He came unto his own and they received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he the privilege to become sons of God.’

As many as. Who are they? No names; no national distinction; no merit, morality, nor class; no age, sex, nor denomination; just ‘as many as’ receive him and believe on his name! Who are they? I can help you to find out who they are by these scriptures: ‘The promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call’ (Acts 13:48). ‘When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord, and as many as were ordained to believed’ (Acts 13:48). ‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God’ (Romans 8:14). ‘As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous, therefore, and repent’ (Revelations 3 :19). What a privilege and blessing of God to be numbered with the ‘as many as’!
