How to read ET on a Kindle

Using the Evangelical Times Kindle File

These instructions relate to the Kindle – Touch device but the process will be similar for all kindle devices.

1. Click on the ‘View for Kindle’ button on your subscription page:

 

If you are using Firefox follow the instructions here.

If you are using Internet Explorer follow the instructions here.

Internet Explorer

2. This should open a dialogue like this:


3. Click the Save button and choose where you want to save the kindle file. (If your kindle device is plugged in you can save the file directly to the documents folder on the device.)

4. Connect your Kindle device:


5. When the dialogue box opens select ‘Open folder to view files’:

6. Drag the kindle file from the folder where you stored it to the documents folder on the kindle device:

7. Disconnect your Kindle device and the new ET file should appear, labelled as a new file on the homepage:


 

8. When you click on the Kindle file it will open with the standard newspaper view:

9. You can also use the handy section browser by ctouching the top of the screen and selecting this view:

10. This will allow you to easily browse through the newspaper:

 

 

Firefox

2. This should open a dialogue like this:

3. This will download the file and add it to the firefox download folder.

4. Open the download folder by clicking on the Tools–>Downloads link:

5. You should now see the downloads folder with the kindle file highlighted:

6. Plug in your kindle device:


7. When the dialogue box opens select ‘Open folder to view files’:

8. This should open the kindle folder:

9. Open the documents folder and drag the kindle file into it:

10. Disconnect your Kindle device and the new ET file should appear, labelled as a new file on the homepage:

 

11. When you click on the Kindle file it will open with the standard newspaper view:


12. You can also use the handy section browser by touching the top of the screen and selecting this view:

13. This will allow you to easily browse through the newspaper:
