At the recent communion season in Ballyclare & Doagh, congregations were privileged to sit under the ministry of Rev. Murdo A. MacLeod, Snizort, Skye.
According to a report by Rev. E. Trevor Kirkland, on the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) website, Mr Macleod dealt with the marks of grace, in his sermon on the Friday.
This was followed by a time of fellowship, when questions regarding assurance, doubts and faith were carefully and judiciously handled. Rev. David Silversides from Loughbrickland was in attendance and gave additional spiritual advice on these matters. On the Saturday, Mr MacLeod brought to the hearers the word ‘remember’, from Psalm 42.
The sabbath services were well attended, with almost 40 people both morning and evening. Fellowship in the hall was followed by more in the home.
Mr Kirkland wrote, ‘We are thankful as a people for both the ministry of Mr MacLeod and for the blessing of the communion season itself. We also had our friends from the Portavogie mission station, who were struck by the simplicity, order and beauty of the communion and who look forward to when they too shall have the same, God willing.
‘We express our thanks to all who contributed to our fellowships, which are a vital part of our congregational life’.
