Stuart Olyott, long-term friend and supporter of Evangelical Times, has accepted a unanimous invitation to be a part-time interim pastor at Caergwrle Evangelical Church.
The little fellowship is situated in a village of about 1,700 people, situated almost six miles west of Wrexham, near the villages of Hope and Abermorddu.
According to Mr Olyott, the church has been ‘a faithful witness to the gospel for decades, but has more recently had some difficulties. It has been on my heart for quite a long time’.
God willing, Mr Olyott will start his ministry there on Easter Sunday, 1 April. The plan is that every week he will live in the village from Saturday teatime to Tuesday bed-time, preaching at least once on the Sunday, doing some pastoral work, and leading or attending the Tuesday mid-week meeting.
The rest of the week he will be living in ‘retirement’ in Liverpool. Mr Olyott added, ‘With the Lord’s blessing, I shall work in fellowship with my three fellow-elders to steer the church to the point where it calls a full-time pastor’.
