Exmouth extension

November 2013

On Saturday 21 September, Scott Drive Church, Exmouth, officially opened its new extension, comprising a disabled entrance ramp, new entrance foyer and new toilets, including disabled toilet.
Andy Paterson, director of mission for the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches, cut the ribbon to declare the extension open and addressed the various guests.
He reminded them that the real church is people and encouraged the church in its mission of sharing the good news of salvation.
Lee Emerson, the church’s pastor, recalled the steps by which the congregation had experienced God’s guidance in the provision of this facility, enabling them, so far, to raise £63,000 of the £67,000 required for the project.
He expressed his hope that the new entrance would indeed point to the ‘life-gate, that all may go in’, alluding to the hymn ‘To God be the glory’, that was sung at the close of the service.
