Christians across Great Britain are being encouraged to pray for areas of the nation where there are few evangelical churches — or even none at all — by using Go into prayer cards.
Launched by the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC), the cards are designed to encourage churches to pray for 50 towns and cities in Great Britain considered to have significant need of a gospel work, with a view to seeing churches planted there. Each Go into card has a photograph of the place in question, with some key facts about it. These 50 places have been chosen because there is little or no evangelical witness there relative to the place’s population.
Although the Go into cards have been produced by FIEC, they are available for every church to pray about where they might consider a church plant.
Andy Paterson, mission director for the FIEC, said, ‘Every Christian should want to see Great Britain won for Christ and these prayer cards are a great way to consider where your church might start a gospel work. We are not saying that these are the only places in Britain where there is gospel need, but we are confident these places need a gospel witness. ‘We would like to see churches using these cards to pray for these areas of our nation so that we might see a church start in these towns and cities’ (for more information, or to buy a set, visit online Christian bookstore 10ofThose: www.10ofthose.com).
