About 80 people from several local churches gathered at the village community centre for the induction of Rev. Stephen Dunning as pastor of the Village Temple Congregational Church in Mynydd Isa, Flintshire.
The service was led by Rev. Michael Hemming, a former minister of the church, with Andrew Cook, church elder, leading the meeting in prayer and reading from 2 Timothy 3:14-4:8.
The history of the call was given by Russell Taylor, church elder and secretary. The induction was performed by Rev. Jackie Brown from Bridgnorth, who is the north-west regional secretary of the Evangelical Fellowship of Congregational Churches and chairman of the committee (EFCC).
He also brought greetings from the EFCC. Chris Thomas, secretary of the North Wales region of the Associating Evangelical Churches of Wales (AECW) brought greetings from the AECW.
Rev. John Richards, minister of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Mold, preached a challenging message from Ephesians 4:7-13, for both the minister and congregation of the church.
He reminded us that each person has been given grace and gifts for service in the church and that all have responsibilities. The new pastor, Mr Dunning, closed the meeting in prayer.
