Christianity sidelined

An Ofsted report has revealed that schools in the UK are marginalising Christianity in a way that is potentially discriminatory.

According to the weekend Telegraph, Independent and Sunday Times newspapers, the report found that 20 per cent of all schools in the UK had sub-standard teaching of RE in lessons, while other schools were focusing too much on other religions at the expense of Christianity.

The school watchdog also found that Christian pupils were often being sidelined, while Bible stories were only repeated without any religious significance being attached to them.

According to Ofsted, these figures are worse than they were three years ago, when the last survey was taken.
