Covenant Bible
Presbyterian Church, India

Two years have passed since Dr George and Mrs Bessy Skariah were sent out by Maranatha Bible Presbyterian Church (BPC), Singapore, as church-planting missionaries to Bangalore, India.
We have known God’s gracious help in overcoming many obstacles, including finding convenient premises to rent, gathering a congregation of 30-40 people, registering as a church trust, purchasing a plot of land, and obtaining planning permission for a building. In May construction work started.
There are regular worship services and a children’s ministry, and there have been a number of baptisms. Various BPC mission teams have helped, including our own from Maranatha, which has travelled four times to minister in Bangalore.
Bangalore is developing into the IT and commercial capital of southern India. Should not the everlasting business of God in the redemption of souls have even greater precedence? We have a high calling and an urgent work in the eternal plan of God, in these last days (Matthew 24:14).
We are erecting a two-storey church building (with classrooms, office and domestic accommodation) and a kindergarten for children’s ministry. We also hope eventually to build a Bible-training centre to prepare indigenous preachers and pastors for the vast harvest fields of India and beyond.
Do pray with us and continue steadfast, for our labour is not in vain in the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58).
