Gaza’s Christians

One little mentioned group of sufferers in the recent violent conflict between Hamas and the Israeli army is around 3000 Christians who live in Gaza. Together with many others, they are victims of the violence and deprivations endured by the whole community.

Barnabas Fund, working in partnership with the Palestinian Bible Society, the Bible Society in Israel and the Arab Israeli Bible Society, is providing food coupons for 400 Christian families in Gaza. The coupons are distributed through local churches to be exchanged for food at local grocery stores.

This method is the most efficient and cost-effective way to ensure that Christians get food during periods of shortages and escalating costs. Estimated costs at present are £50 (US$70) per family per week. Donations can be made to Barnabas Fund, 9 Priory Row, CV1 5EX, quoting ref. 65-377.
