The best in the west

On Saturday 16 June the EMW Christian Bookshop at Bryntirion, Bridgend, was relaunched – refurbished, enlarged, and with a coffee lounge and children’s play area. A good number of people gathered for the opening ceremony.
The ribbon was cut by Mrs Eluned Thomas – the first warden and caretaker at Bryntirion when the shop started over 50 years ago. She spoke of the need to pray for and support Christian bookshops.
There were children’s activities; special offers on books; free tea, coffee and nibbles all day. Local author Haydn Davies signed his recently published book Night out with the Boys. It was a nice opportunity to meet friends and a truly happy occasion.
The shop is on the same site as the recently renamed Wales Evangelical School of Theology, and aims to be a well stocked theological bookshop. We have tried to resist the urge to rename it BEST (Bryntirion Evangelical Shop of Theology), but we do aspire to be the BEST in the WEST!
