Women of the Word at Thornton Heath

Great blessings were received during the sixth Ladies’ Day at Thornton Heath Evangelical Church, Surrey, on 21 June. Nearly 100 ladies of all ages, from 13 churches in and around London, gathered to hear two wonderful messages from Joy Browning.

Joy has worked for the Society for Distributing Hebrew Scriptures since 1996, following a 30-year career in teaching. Her morning session was on ‘Trusting the Word’, because she values it so (and so should we); the afternoon message focused on ‘Obeying the Word’.

In addition to hearing Joy’s personal testimony of how she was saved aged 11 during a children’s mission, and her accounts of how the Word of God is received by Jewish families, those present were encouraged by some beautiful worship ministry from Christian opera singer Joanne Heald. Also, a delicious lunch was provided by the gentlemen of the church, resplendent in their bow ties, for which the attendees were extremely grateful – and impressed!

The day brought spiritual blessings to all, who went home uplifted by God’s presence. Many attendees declared to the organiser: ‘This was the best Ladies’ Day yet!’
