Encouragment

There is so little encouragement in the world and in life sometimes, so I thought I’d take time to give you some encouragement from the best source of all, the Word of God!

Psalm 42:5-6 gives encouragement to those suffering from depression. It says, ‘Why are you cast down, O my soul? … Hope in God, for I shall yet praise him, for the help of his countenance’. This magnificent passage assures us that God will help us, especially in times of need. He will never leave our side and will comfort us always.

In Psalm 62:2 it says, ‘He alone is my rock and my salvation, he is my defence’. That defence is not only for the troubles and trials of the world but for the troubles and trials of the mind also. Constant prayer can release our tensions, worries and stress.

It says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, ‘Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed and behold the new has come’. This gives us the incentive to carry on. As we are in Christ, he will not let us go. We will be with him for ever!

Sadly, many of my friends have real problems with who they are, whether it is body image or ability at school. But God loves us just the way we are; nothing in the world can change that. We should be happy as Christians with who we are and how we are. We cannot change who we are.

God is good! So be encouraged!
