1636 – Aberdeen

In 1636 Rutherford was banished to Aberdeen,  where much of his writing was done. He was not allowed to preach and was away from his friends and family. He returned to Anwoth with the re-establishment of Presbyterianism. and became the Professor of Divinity at St. Mary’s College, St. Andrew’s University. His first wife died in 1630 so in 1640 Rutherford married Jean M’Math.
