A new paper

1872

A year after beginning to write for Amsterdam newspaper De Heraut, Kuyper founded his own newspaper, De Standaard, in 1872. He was editor-in-chief of that paper until his death in 1920, when Hendrikus Colijn succeeded him both at the paper and as leader of the Anti-Revolutionary Party.
