Graham died at home in Montreat, North Carolina, on 21 February 2018 at the age of 99.  Before his burial he was the fourth private citizen and first religious leader to lie in honour at the United States Capitol rotunda in Washington, D.C. On 2 March in a private funeral, Graham’s body was buried beside his wife in the Prayer Garden by the Billy Graham Library.
