Election to Parliament

1874 - 1877

In his first candidacy for Parliament, Kuyper was defeated by the incumbent conservative member of Parliament in 1873. The next year, following the member’s death, Kuyper was elected in the by-election. He left Parliament three years later in 1877 with health problems.
