Inheritance

1886

His father having died, leaving behind a considerable fortune, Charles came into his inheritance of what would be, in today’s money, around 3 million pounds, at the age of 25. However, desiring to follow Jesus’ instructions to the rich young ruler, he donated the entire sum to other mission works, such as the Salvation Army and the Moody Bible Institute and George Muller’s orphanage.
